With a nod to the short story Landlord of the Crystal Fountain by Malaki Whitaker, this story follows Crispin who is on his way to the wedding of a distant cousin. He is hungover, tired, and only just manages to get a seat on the train, where he meets Siena. It is a meeting that ends up changing his life. Detour is a story about fate, chance and love, looking at life on one side of the proverbial Sliding Doors. Instead of merely asking the question “what if”, it follows through to the end. It is a story about the power of chance and having the desire and courage to jump into the unknown.
