IMF: World Economic Outlook 2007

The IMF's annual World Economic Outlook (WEO) 2007 (get 323 (!) page PDF here) is out and as always it is well worth a quick scan. As always considerable parts of the report have been 'leaked' and most notably the section on de-coupling has gotten much attention around the blogs although not yet from Alpha.Sources. See for example Eurointelligence, Nouriel Roubini and Stephen Roach (April 10th issue of MS GEF). Also the notes on exchange rates and imbalances which is of course also a topic familiar to Alpha.Sources' readers have been picked up by Chinn over at Econbrowser.

I will have much more to say about all this soon in a more lenghty note.

Meanwhile, if the 323 page PDF is putting you off Bloomberg.com has cut and sliced the reports' main findings and forecasts into some easily digestable articles.

US growth forecast and analysis, Eurozone/European growth forecast and analysis, World growth forecast and analysis, and finally, Japan growth forecast and analysis.

Enjoy!
